Well we had more snow today… about 10 hours of it, though mainly light. Enough, however, to ice up the untreated roads around here for anyone without a 4×4. The garden was quiet too, during the day. One photo then, and some more video. The photo was taken in the middle of the day and is of the hills about a mile away from here.

The video had a treat… as well as foxes (hardly a surprise), one of the badgers turned up. A badger in snow is first for me (even through the proxy of a trail cam).

Camera note: photo taken with the Canon 7D and EF70-300mm 4.5-5.6 DO IS lens. Video clips from the Bushnell Trophy Cam HD edition.

  1. Interesting that last two winters were very snowy and cold in Europe. In Vancouver – only fog and rain :left:

  2. The landscape has a good mood to it, Words.
The vid is interesting. I thought badgers went pretty inactive in winter.

  3. I'm seeing a few badger tracks here but not many. They do seem less active in cold conditions.

That landscape has a vaguely Sask feel about it! I couldn't get into work today. I need a dogsleigh :right:

  4. Adele, the badger was a surprise as I had expected them to stay close to the sett (and maybe they are, which would be nice).

It was an ice-rink outside this morning, so it was a case of working from home. Irritating, as most of the surrounding roads are clear.

  5. Darko, the fog and rain is no doubt because of the 'British' in BC. 😉 Hope it clears up for you. rain and fog are not much fun.

  6. dW, I struggled with that landscape shot so it's had a fair bit of work on it. It has an old-fashioned feel about it. Badgers do tend not to roam at this time of year, which makes me think that they can't be too far away. They've been in a couple of times over the past week.
