I reckon the foxes are now showing off. Having waxed lyrical yesterday about their taste in French food (snails), they have now turned their attention to lapin, or plain rabbit to you and me. Lurking at the back of the garden we found a rabbit pelt and a leg left over from what presumably was a fox-feast. It was just the pelt and a leg… everything else had gone. My guess is that an adult brought it back from somewhere, possibly a road-kill, but quite as easily a poorly protected pet or wild rabbit. Impossible to tell. It's a timely reminder though that the fox is a hunter by nature.

Meanwhile my back pain has subsided a lot and is now mainly just a general numbness down my leg, plus some cramping in the calf when I walk. It's a nuisance, but at least I'm more or less functional again, apart from a fairly distinct limp. But it's definitely an improvement on earlier in the week when I could barely even hobble.

I'll close with a picture of one of the cubs from tonight. I'll leave you to think of your own caption…

  3. what foxes eat?
I think, today a chicken, tomorrow a goos, the other day a rabbit and so on and so on… they are carnivore…
But I think, you don't wish a massacre in your garden?
    What will you do?

    Greetings
