Kinky – the shy vixen – has shown up for the last couple of nights. She's kept her distance but her coat looks to be in pretty poor condition, with very little cover on her back and flanks. Other than that, she appears to be healthy judging by her movement.
She was way too far away for any decent photos (probably about 50 feet) but by cranking the camera up to ISO 400 I managed these snapshots.
She seems very broad indeed (it's more obvious on the second – very blurry – shot). So much so that I'm beginning to think she might be carrying cubs. We'd been wondering about this for a while, ever since this photo back on 6th February.
Fox #1 hasn't been seen for a few days, but he's tending to be a bit erratic at the moment, and the wet weather means he doesn't linger when he does show.
