With the improvement in the weather we've had a touch more fox activity in the garden. 'Roofy' passed through yesterday afternoon, and today an unidentified fox was spotted at the back of the garden. It had a skinny tail I'm told, was very shy and lurked at the back of the garden behind the shrubs before disappearing. We're speculating that it was the the vixen we spotted in February.

Meanwhile Roofy has been back a couple of times this evening. In somewhat playful mood it seems!

Sprawling in the grass

Considering his next move

Maybe I should sit up

I'll do it the easy way!

Nearly made it

Sorted

Edit: Update – at around midnight Roofy showed up again. This time I could hear cubs somewhere around. Eventually we located them to a shed a couple of gardens away. Peering in the dark across two garden and through trees and fences I could see at least 3 foxes (an adult and two cubs). Their movement was triggering a security light. Impossible to photograph at that distance, but with luck they'll find their way here when they start to explore a little further afield.

  3. Nice to see him so playful. We're still waiting for him to bring the kids to play here, but I think he may be deliberately treating our garden as a quiet refuge. These young parents…

  4. I begin to be attached to your amusing Roofy! 😀

Delightful, but in need of serious nutrition.

  6. He's always been on the skinny side, but he catches plenty of food judging by large amounts he carries back to the cubs.
