In the absence of any new photos over the past few days, I've been going through the archive for the daily photograph. I'm currently working through pictures taken back in July, so the cub is getting a good look in.
I was playing around with this shot tonight
I quite liked the image, despite the cub's face being slightly out of focus, but it lacked something. So I tweaked. First I cloned out the pole that shows faintly on the right hand side of the picture. I then sharpened the image a couple of steps. That helped a bit. The final steps were to play more radically with contrast/brightness settings, and to up the gamma a step or so (to brighten the overall image).
Anyway, it's not perfect (the water bowl has sharpened too much for my taste), but it improves on the original and shows just how much detail a digital camera captures (but which is easily lost).
As to the foxes, well fox #2 is still turning up (and scarpering). No sign of fox #1, though we suspect he's still around. And I spotted what I htink is a third fox (a vixen) sleeping in the corner of the garden yesterday morning. Too far away for a photo, and she looked so peaceful in the sun that I didn't want to risk disturbing her. She's distinctive because her coat is much redder than the others.
Oh, and I don't think I've mentioned that the video page is now fully up and running.
