Having given up on autumn ever reaching the southern part of the UK (warm sunshine and green leafy trees still being the order of the day), I turned the camera to more of the local wildlife. A colleague mentioned a good spot for watching birds and to my delight the blue tits and robins were happily feeding. ![]()

Meanwhile this evening I'd again all but given up any hope of seeing the fox, and had even got as far as trawling my archives for a 'photo of the day'. I was going to use this one from a week or so ago.
Just before I posted it, I had another look outside. As luck would have it, the fox was lurking near the steps. He eventually settled on a spot near the pond wall for a quiet snooze. Here's a couple of pictures from tonight.
And I got my Fox of the Day.
