We had chicken for dinner tonight. The vixen showed up at about 11pm for her share. She was slightly more relaxed than usual (the chicken may have a part to play in that), but most of the shots were taken through the window so nothing spectacular. The bald patch on her flank is still very apparent.
Once she'd finished eating at the bowl, we watched her cache food further up the garden before she disappeared. So a pretty good visit all in all.
Sticking with maxim that chickens and eggs are inseparable, we left out an egg on the off-chance she was still lurking. Sure enough she returned after about 10 minutes. I'd got the door open by then (note to self: must oil the door…), and so the second photo here is slightly sharper, but still taken from too far away in poor light. It's also pretty tricky aiming and focusing from 20-30 feet in relative darkness, even with electronic assistance. Compare this one with the shots posted this morning. They were taken through the same window, but at a distance of around 60 feet with a hefty zoom. Decent light really does make one helluva difference.
