Cookies are used on this site for basic functionality. One is part of WordPress functions and the other handles php pages. Both expire as soon as you end the session. Very occasionally a page will include external content (e.g. a YouTube video). Additional cookies may be placed when this happens, linked to YouTube and its affiliates.
When visitors leave comments the site collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata (which includes your email address) are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. This data is not shared. We also use the Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).
If you use the contact form your IP and email address and message content are retained whilst the information remains relevant.
Some anonymized user data is gathered when visiting the site (IP address, browser, operating system, country). This gives basic site analytics provided by the site host. No other analytics system is used.
The subscription list for email alerts stores only your name and email address. The information is never shared and is only used to email you website updates. You must explicitly request to join the list and can equally request removal at any time.
