This collection of photos was taken in mid February 2016, near Brighton Race Course on the edge of the South Downs. Short eared owls are daytime flyers and, as a result, the owl had become something of a celebrity for local bird watchers and dog-walkers. These images were taken late afternoon and in the early morning.
