Peonies

During the Covid-19 lockdown I spent many hours photographing the flowers in our garden. I became fascinated with their colour and form, and enjoyed the much slower pace of this form of photography to my more usual wildlife snapping. These are some of the resultant pictures of of our peonies.
The photos were taken on a Canon 1DXII with either a 100-400mm lens or my 100mm macro lens. I experimented a lot with a wide aperture to soften the background areas. All images were processed in Lightroom.
