A Grey Wet Day

It’s really done little else but rain today. It was raining when I took this photo of the local cormorant:

And it was raining when I snapped these ducks in the road which was partly flooded.

There was the briefest break in the weather when I got this shot of a buzzard sweeping low over the fields.

And after a brief but major downpour it all eased off again to get this shot taken through the strangely lit gloom.

Snapshots

Nothing but gloom today, but an early morning and late afternoon pause at Seven Sisters produced a few good sightings. The photos don’t do them justice and are little more than snapshot records of the day, the first being two shots of a peregrine falcon.

Just as I was heading off to work, the klaxon-calls of Canada geese drew the camera.

Now to the end of the day and two little birds. The little grebe…

And the little egret (for once looking quite small).

The forecast for tomorrow looks quite promising for lunchtime… if the early morning rain clears.

Buzzard, Sunset and Badger Vid

We spent today working on the garden. The big autumn clear-up. Our activity was probably the reason the foxes stayed away (though I now have a much better view of the rear of the garden, which may help me get come night photos), but I was rewarded with a fly-over by a pair of buzzards.

The blue skies turned red as the sun began to set, dropping slowly behind the main stand Brighton Racecourse.

The video mentioned in the title is from last night. A pair of badgers came by and helped themselves to some peanuts.
