Erwin, they should do ok. It generally stays quite mild this far south. Last year was an exception though!

Anon, they are members of the rail family, so I guess that makes them swimming birds. They're related to coots, which I think you may have in Canada.
At least they look like birds now :left:
Darko, yes, that certainly helps. They really do change so much as they grow up.
