It pays to catch the early light. These were taken at 8.15 this morning as the sun rose above the surrounding South Downs and lit up the village pond at Falmer with a perfect golden light.

The heron took off from the corner of the pond. The fourth shot was captured as it passed in front of the wooded island in the centre of the pond, creating a deep contrast.

  7. Great photographs  I've seen some news from western Scotland and bad weather they are facing there, but south Britain seems to be out of that Atlantic rage

  8. Darko, we may be getting some rough weather over the next few days, but I don't think it will be anything very extreme.

  9. My Scottish Lassie just got her power on after 3 days without … about a half hour ago. Now she's testing out everything in the fridge and the freezer.
