In between photographing the local wildlife I occasionally turn my camera to the sky to photograph the light aircraft passing overhead. Apart from learning a little bit more about the variety of aircraft I see (a bit like bird watching), occasionally you see the unexpected (also a bit like bird watching). Take a close look at this photo of a Rans S6ES 582 Coyote II microlight that flew over the garden at lunchtime today.

Ok, you probably can't see what I'm talking about so I'll make it a little easier with this 100% crop.

Yes, as I was photographing the plane it seems the pilot had the same idea 😀 With a little bit of checking of the identification G-BZNH (praise be for aircraft identification websites), I've tracked the Coyote (well, we have to stick to the canid theme!) down to the Flight for Life record-breaking flying endurance team. Their next target (2008) is a charity fund-raising flight from the UK to Africa. Good luck guys!

Camera note: both shots taken with the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens

  1. I did a double take there when I saw the title of this post! 😆 I was slightly confused as to why coyotes would be roaming around Sussex (let alone with a camera!)

  2. Coyotes, chipmunks… they all fly over here!

  3. Flying coyote with camera 😆

  5. Say CHEESE! Fly with CHEESYJET lol 😆 Nice shot there, was a great day for spotting, i was at Gatwick yesterdday:D

In the sites jetphotos.net and airliners.net it seems you have the only photo of the aircraft at the moment 😀 Must be a new plane.

  6. LOL 😆 It must have been cold up at Gatwick :smurf: I don't think I've got any of my photos on those sites. I tend to google into them but haven't uploaded anything. Great sites though, and really useful for tracking down individual aircraft. :sherlock:

  7. I wonder if there's a blog post out there with pictures of a certain man standing in his back garden with a camera looking up? 😀
