Apologies to anyone landing here for news of Opera's Dragonfly, but these one have progressed beyond their alpha stage 😉

The broad bodied chasers were out in force today, enjoying the warm weather. There were about half a dozen criss-crossing the dew pond, and occasionally resting up.

The damsels were also in evidence.

And this old crow popped in for a drink.

The gull chicks are still doing fine by the way (more photos of them soon), and we've had a couple of brief visits from various foxes (but still no visible sign of cubs). I've added more of the chaser photo to the main album over here.

  8. Yet another stunning collection! Though I must say, that water in the crow picture is an interesting shade of grey / green! Must be the soil I guess.

  9. Thanks for the comments. I love photographing the chasers. It's probably the most relaxed yet intense bit of photography I get into. Perfect way of escaping the day for half an hour or so. I set up by the pond and just settle down and wait. I was using a monopod for these, as much to take the weight of the camera as anything else. The crow was a nice addition.

And Adele, the water is pretty much that colour. Very murky. It's a clay-based pond surrounded by low vegetation (hence the green tinge/reflection).
