I'm not sure what I did, but I've had the devil's own job with the computer today. I'd been trying to set up newsgroups in Opera, which for some reason caused Opera to start crashing. My first fix lost all my mail. I got that back but still had problems and after several uninstalls/reinstalls plus System Restores I have a working machine again. But no mail module in Opera. The mail side I have covered elsewhere, but I've lost my feeds. Anyway, that means I'll be messing around with the computer for a while longer over the next couple of days to get things sorted out, and reinstall some of the apps I lost in the System Restore.
As for the wildlife, here's a short sequence taken from a distance earlier today of a buzzard being mobbed by a pair of crows.
Taking those was rather more satisfying than messing about the PC this evening. I've also been learning a little more about the campus fox, though I've not seen her again. The best time (not surprisingly) for catching a sight of her is just after 7.00am, so I may try to get some early starts. She has a particular range she covers, so there are no guarantees but I have a good mental map of her favoured haunts (generally areas with large rabbit populations :yikes:)
Hopefully I'll get the computing side of things sorted out soon. And once stable I'll leave it alone.

30 Apr 2009The last photo is excellent, I like colours of birds in contrast with a clouds. Crows gave him hard times, it seems 😀
1st rule of computer engagement: if it works, don`t change :knight:
I guess a problem is between Opera and Vista. There are some free software you can download for making "images" of system partition. It is useful before taking sensitive steps, and will enable you to return to previous stage in a matter of minutes, if anything goes wrong.

30 Apr 2009Nice photos, hopefully you will see the Campus Fox again soon! 😀
Hope your PC gets sorted soon, i had no problem with mine but i run IE, not Firefox or Opera so thats probably why i guess. Also, sometimes i click on something and it opens a load of IE pages then crashes but thats not too bad i just wait for it to stop lol. 😛

30 Apr 2009My favorite is the second one because it implies a sort of blend betweeen people and birds.

30 Apr 2009Poor old buzzard 😆
I haven't noticed any particular problems between Opera and Vista  Anyway, I hope it all gets sorted out for you soon. Computer problems are very wearisome.

30 Apr 2009Mark, I'm keeping a look out for the fox, but no luck today. I'm terrible with computers. I never like leaving them as they are so I get used to tweaking them a lot. Usually it's fine, but occasionally I run into a problem. At the moment things seem ok so I'm going to change things slowly from now on.

30 Apr 2009Adele, the buzzard will be fine (it lives in the local woods so I guess they do this all the time). I don't think the problem was Opera/Vista as such. I did hit the identical problem a while back on XP. I can't remember how I fixed it though, but a truly clean install of Opera 10 has done the trick.

30 Apr 2009Lois, it was a treat to get the house in the second shot. I hadn't really noticed it when I was taking the photo but you're right that it adds an interesting context.

30 Apr 2009Darko, your first rule is a good one. I'm clueless on partitions but I guess I may need to read up on them at some stage. At the moment it seems ok (I installed the Opera 10 alpha build and it seems fine and I've configured it back to how I like things.
The last shot is my favourite too!

10 May 2009Probably I'm too late, anyway I'm sorry about your software troubles :awww: They surely irritate…
The second shot is special, I agree with Lois, the last one is also great!
