Strange day…. we had a 5 minute blizzard, cloud, sun, a touch of light snow. :smurf: The birds didn't seem to mind though.
There were blackbirds…
And a thrush, singing in the trees…
Out near the fields I saw a great tit…
In the woods, a robin…
And in a garden at work, a grey wagtail…
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 40D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens.

11 Feb 2010Thanks Doug! Seeing the grey was a really nice surprise. I plan to try to get more shots… The netting is up there to keep the pigeons, gulls, and occasional sparrowhawk out (not always successfully in the case of sparrowhawks).

11 Feb 2010Darko, the weather has gone really cold again. At this rate we'll have spring in July! But the birds like it 🙂

12 Feb 2010Always nice to see the grey wagtails! They add colour to any scene.
We've had heavy snow but it hasn't settled much because the ground is so wet. However, I was out walking yesterday and thought it felt like -10c in the breeze; I dismissed that as crazy, but the local weather station did register a windchill of -13c :smurf:

13 Feb 2010Adele, the windchill was extreme. It felt much colder than when we had the heavy snow in January. Not comfortable at all. The wagtail seems to be a regular. It was there again today.
