I've not had much time to sort out a proper blog today, so here are a few shots in no particular order from yesterday and today.
My first proper hedgehog picture of the year

The beach at Herne Bay

The sky early this evening…

More tadpoles

Camera note: All taken with the Canon 40D. I used an array of lenses… the hedgehog and the Herne Bay beach are both with the EF70-300mm 4.5-5.6 DO IS. The sky was taken with the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS. The tadpoles were taken with the Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG macro and Canon 430EX flash unit. I used the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM for the vixen.

  1. I like the tadpoles…the way that the tadpoles dissolve into more tadpoles. Very fecund 🙂

  2. Hedgehog

Hmm? What's with that bald spot behind her ear? Doesn't look like it "should be there"…

  4. A wonderful array of photos!

  5. Becca writes:

That's a HUGE fat bloated tick on that hedgehog – yuck! Poor little feller. Any chance of you Frontlining him or her?

  6. Wojtek, the fox has a small wound behind her ear. It looks clean and may have been over enthusiastic cubs, or possibly a fight. She's fine though. The hedgehog has a tick.

  7. Becca, I'll keep an eye on the hedgehog. Ticks are a bit of a problem for them.

  8. Brendan, the tadpoles are amazing at this stage… a frenzy of flickering motion.

  9. Lois, thanks!

  10. Darko, yes they're back (we have at least two of them).

  11. Lovely sky shot! And great to see the hedgehog, tick or otherwise…

  12. Adele, thanks! The sky was quite stunning that evening.

  13. Thanks Erwin!

  14. Great hedgehog photo, every photo of one seems to have one with a tick. Love that taddies and fox as ever 🙂

  15. Neil, ticks are a bit of a problem for them. The tadpoles have all grown up now and are hidden in the depths (or – just as likely – a seagull got them :chef:)

  16. Lovely Pict
