I was all ready to post more park pictures (balck-headed gulls to be precise) when I spotted the young male fox lurking out in the garden. It's the best part of a month since my last direct sighting (7th January), and despite the awful conditions (mist, drizzle) I did manage a few shots 😉
The first shot
That's a quick selection. The quality is not great. I'd forgotten what a brute the 400D had become (the white balance is 'inconsistent' and it loses communication with the flash unit occasionally), but it served it's purpose well enough tonight. I'm happy 😀
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 400D and EF 24-105 F4L IS USM lens.

4 Feb 2011You may not, but the mice were in great danger. 😆
After the picture he roars like a lion.

5 Feb 2011He looks rather wet and sorry for himself in the first photo! I can imagine it does feel a bit odd to go back to the 400D. Probably weighs a bit less than the 40D, though 😉

5 Feb 2011Adele, I'd forgotten that the 400D actually had problems (mainly with flash) which is one of the reasons I replaced it at the time. It does feel very light and it's too small to feel balanced once you put a lens on it. But if photographs foxes (even wet ones), it's ok with me.
