As promised last night here's the video I took during the early evening visit by our regular fox. This is one of the first videos I've made with the Canon 7D. It's hand-held (I was also shooting stills) and it took me a while to get used to focusing as the fox moved about. It's shot in high definition and given the relatively poor light and high ISO settings (around ISO 1000) the overall quality is pretty good (the quality of the camera handling is another matter entirely!).

Anyway, a few of the stills to introduce the video…

And now the video…

Camera note: stills and video taken with the Canon 7D and EF 24-105 F4L IS USM lens.

  2. He is posing, a natural talent ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. Lois, thanks. The music is from the YouTube 'audio swap' so the timing is not really anything to do with me. It works well though.

  4. Very iimpressive video! I love the music, it fits so well with the foxes!

  5. Robin, thanks! It was a treat to be able to get some proper video. It's been a long time since I've had the chance.

  8. Scratching already! ๐Ÿ˜‰ but I'm impressed with the quality of the video. Definitely the best I've seen from any other than a camcorder

  9. Adele, the video quality is excellent but it takes a bit of time to get used to having to focus properly rather than just letting the camera do the work. It's a nice extra to have though.

  10. Thanks a bundle! I really don't know much about this kind of species. And I haven't got a chance to see it by my bare eyes. Very lovely!
