The local house martins are living up to their name and have built nests in the eaves of the houses surrounding the local pond. The adults are busy feeding their broods, one of whom you can see peeping out at the top of these shots taken early this morning.
House martins may like eaves, but herring gulls like to spread themselves out on the ample flat roofs that resemble cliff tops. The young gulls are growing quickly, and discovering their wings. 
Not quite ready to fledge though….
And one shot of the fox cubs. The seated fox is the shy male. The other one is 'rough ear'.

30 Jun 2012They're now at the dangerous stage. If they try this too close to the edge they end up on the ground, thoroughly disconcerted, and no way of getting back up again.
