Well it's taken some time, but two brief sightings tonight of one of our badgers produced a single photo.

The trail cam does rather better though, and here's another 'fox and badger' encounter from last night.

Camera note: photo taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100mm f/2.8L macro IS USM lens. Trail cam footage from the Bushnell Trophy Cam.

  1. I reckon the fox realises that the badger is a formidable opponent.

  2. Now the badger will start to appear during the day, being not afraid of you

  3. That's great trailcam footage of the badger. Poor fox – very much mission impossible! Nice still photo too. They're so ridiculously hard to get.

  4. Darko, that would be nice, though it won't come in the day. They are much more nocturnal than foxes.

  5. dW, foxes will usually steer clear. Fights are more common when there are new-borns around.

  6. Adele, the badgers have been a real treat this year. Plus so many foxes. It's getting crowded out there!
