A great night at Stamford Bridge ended 1-1. By all accounts Chelsea dominated much of the play and were pressing to the end despite having Desailly red carded.
Spent the match hooked up to the Chelsea Chat with the steam radio at my side. Pulsating stuff. The board was the busiest I can recall. The consensus is that we played them off the park for long periods (but oh why can't we score when we're on top). Ambrosio was fine in goal, Henry was kept quiet and Lampard came out on top over Vieira. And Gudjohnsen scored again. I'd love to see him play with Forsell in the team.
Can't wait for the second leg. Get to see that one on terrestrial tv.
And for the record, all the fans want Ranieri to stay. He's doing a great job in the first season with the new team, we're heading for 87-91 points for the season (enough to win it in 6 of the last 9 years). Can't think of anyone who would have done a better job.
So we're nicely poised for the re-match…
