Well the site update is pretty much complete. It works great in Opera, and is functional in pretty much everything else. <http://www.permuted.org.uk>

I downloaded Tobs Theatre Light the other day and although I'm sticking with my customized version of Atlantek Opera for my skin (changed bookmark buttons and a cooler background grey for the main colour) I really liked Tob's effect of the button 'rolling up' as you hovered over it. Anyway, I've nicked the idea for a back button on my webpages. Here are the images.

As you hover a bit of javascript pulls up the second image to give a nice effect of movement. I've linked it to some code to make it go back a page. Funnily enough it seems clunky in Mozilla (doesn't always go back a page), but works fine in everything else. A bit gimmicky I know, and I doubt it will really get used. Just liked the effect and wanted to use it somehow. I used something called Photoimpact 8 to do this. Still playing around with it (but at least I have a manual, so will persist). I'm also using it to create a new set of icons for my desktop. Pretty soon my machine will be unrecognizable. It sure as hell doesn't look like it's running XP.

Next stop for the website is a 'Software Chatter' page about my fave software. Opera will get a good mention (of course), plus Agent, Pegasus, and my latest addition Filezilla which I'm now using as my ftp application. It's a good little free prog and can be grabbed from <http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/>

(can't get that last link to go 'hot' for some reason… :() Yes I can… it just doesn't show in preview mode. Silly me.
