Frank Lampard – England Player of the Year :cheers:

No surprise to those of us who have followed Frank's incredible performances for Chelsea, but polling 40% of the vote to become 'England Player of the Year' shows just how highly regarded he is. And it's not just his incredible scoring record for a midfielder, but his consistency. Amazingly, in domestic football Frank is now up to 131 consecutive Premiership games for Chelsea… a level of consistency unmatched by any other player (by some distance).

And while I'm on the topic of football, the fortunes of Leeds United (bought today for £10 million by former Chelsea Chairman Ken Bates) and still with debts of £25 million apparently, made strange reading alongside the news that Chelsea had dropped their shirt-manufacturer deal with Umbro having paid – yes that's right – a cool £25 million to cancel the deal. Times have changed, and then some.

But back to Frank: the full story is over on the official FA site. Oh yes… Rooney came second with 16% of the vote (he'd have got more, but most of the votes for him flew high over the bar), and Beckham nowhere in sight. Strange days… but I'm havin' a laff. :hat:
