I was out in the garden this afternoon taking some video of the foxes (not yet edited), and I heard a tapping from the far end of the garden. It was a thrush, beating the living daylights out of a snail. You can see the remnants on the ground to the left, and a morsel in the bird's beak. If you want to encourage thrushes – they are good at keeping the snail population down – make sure you have some large stones or slabs around the garden.

Next up is one of the photos from around the same time in the afternoon. It reminds me of the pictures I got of Blondie, the cub who visited for much of last year.
