I've been struggling with our internet connection tonight. Constant drop-outs, probably caused by weather conditions. This being England it will no doubt be blamed on 'the wrong sort of Sun' or something similarly inane. The connections been up and down like the proverbial, which makes doing anything utterly frustrating (It dropped twice while typing that last sentence).

But there are some fox updates to report.

Last night the very skinny cub showed up for the first time in about a week. He looks somewhat forlorn, definitely the least robust of the pack. His tail is scraggy, and coat greyish rather than red in places. We treated him to a small amount of food and supplement. If he starts to turn up regularly we'll see if there's anything else we can do.

Tonight, three other cubs put in an appearance, the largest gathering for some time. The 'very skinny' cub wasn't with them, but that makes a definite sighting of four of the family in two days. Maybe the slight easing of the heat is encouraging them to be more active.

Or maybe they've decided they want a new 'den'. One of them was very persistent around the back door tonight and seemed intent on following us inside. Hmmmm… not to be encouraged. Here's what I mean.

Wow, That reminds me of a vid I saw on Animal Planet where a fox was sneaking into a house through the dog door (dono where the dog was tho) and into one of the bedrooms. He/she kept waking up their son and his parents didn't believe him until he caught it on tape….very odd.

  4. Hmmm… Maybe he's planning for a carreer as a housefox? 😉

  5. I am surprised, again and again, about the wildlife in your garden.
Thank you for such interesting stories.
