It seems that the old fox is reverting to his behaviour of 2005. I looked outside at around 11.00 tonight and he was sitting patiently over in the corner near the pond. So he got the second treatment slightly earlier than planned, and it means I can relax a bit until next Friday. With two doses in him he should start to feel the benefits, but he really needs at least a third dose to be clear. I've picked a shot for today which shows his good side.
Meanwhile I've added several more photos to the Birds Birds Birds album, including this pair of jackdaws, and a song thrush which was in full voice. The jackdaws were easy to spot (as were the magpie and crow also in the album). The thrush, less so. I could hear it, but it took an age to spot it high in the tree, and then trying to find an angle with only minimal branches obstructing the view was a challenge. I switched to manual focus for this shot as the autofocus was insistent that I wanted to take a close-up of a stray branch.
I messed up a good opportunity to photograph a kestrel while I was out (all I have is a blur). And I didn't have a camera to hand at all when a sparrowhawk swooped low across the garden this morning, sending the wood pigeons in all directions.

27 Jan 2007That's a great sharp shot of the thrush, well worth the effort. And yes, I have grown to hate stray branches 😆
You seem to be mastering the new camera very well

27 Jan 2007Thanks! I'm also mastering some of the software finally. I've started using a nice plug-in called Neat Image to deal with noise. It can be a tad aggressive at times, but it's sharpening feature is excellent.

28 Jan 2007Looks interesting! I have quite a lot of noise issues when I'm photographing at night without the flash and this looks very useful.
