It's been a quiet weekend which has given me time to catch up with a few stray shots from last week, including these three pictures of ducks out early in the morning.

And still with ducks, a couple of motion blur experiments taken in poor light.

Finally, one from the weekend. A peregrine overflying the garden yesterday morning.

Mixed weather in the week ahead. Tomorrow looks ok, but there is plenty of wind and rain about as well as the week progresses.

  1. LOL … that first blurred shot of the mallard looks like he's in a right panic.
I love that first white duck picture and the one of the drake in the striped water.
Lots of peregrines here; they're living in the cities lately, and seem to be doing very well. They like the tall buildings.

  2. White ducks pictures are very good and second blurred shot of the mallard I like very much

  3. Nice to see the falcon  And those ducks – they look like they're synchronised swimmers! :right:

  4. Nice! First two shots.. and this takin-off and landing ducks…

Or they were expecting to be fed :left:

  6. Adele, the white ducks are great and now have the competition of a second pair of white ducks. I must try to get all four together.

  7. Denis, thanks!

  8. Darko, I think they must know by now that I never feed them. They do better at lunchtime, when more people are about. 😉

  9. Sami, thanks. I was pleased with the white ducks. Less sure about the blurred shots, but those are very much a work in progress.

  10. dW, thanks! The white ducks are such good subjects, always in pairs. We also have a number of urban peregrines. There's a roost at the top of a tower at the Tate Modern in London.
