Well it was another quiet evening in the garden. No sign of the foxes yet, though I could hear them rustling in the undergrowth. So instead I turned the camera to the wood mouse.
While I was watching the mouse gorging itself on peanuts, I saw some movement across the rear of the garden.
Usually the local cats scarper at the sight of me, but this one seemed cautious and determined. Obviously a pet (nice collar and name tag), and very cute to look at. I've seen it before out hunting in the garden late at night, and this evening it settled down behind some shrubs at the rear of the garden. Fortunately, nowhere near the mouse. And it was absolutely fine with the camera from close range as well!
His name is Charlie by the way!
Meanwhile the mouse switched feeders to get a better view!
As long as the mouse stays in the tree I think it'll be fine. Only foxes climb trees in this garden!

10 Aug 2007Sweet little mouse  The cat is probably trying to catch it, or probably just wants to have a nice chat with it…. 😉
