In recent weeks, it's become a case of watch, wait and often miss the nicked-ear vixen as she passes through the garden. So it was somewhat unexpected when I went outside this evening and saw her nestled comfortably in the rickety pergola at the far end of the garden. This is most unlike her, as indeed was her tolerance as I approached up the garden. The photos are mainly taken at the long end of the zoom. After all, if she is going to make herself at home here the last thing I want to do is disturb her.

  1. Wonderful series! It's great she is feeling so comfortable in your garden…I hope it's a harbinger of things (photos) to come! 🙂

  2. She is finding a peaceful place to spend the winter 😀 And she looks adorable 🙂

  3. Darko, I do hope she stays around. 🙂

  4. FB, it would be nice if she stays all winter, because after winter is spring and spring is cubs 😀

  5. I love that little fox  and, yes, she looks so comfortable in your garden….if I were a fox, not like any better 😀

  6. I envy you, Words! 😀 You can take all these shots so close to it! I think it really likes your garden! 🙂 🙂

  7. Nice to see her so calm. All foxes seem to have favourite spots for resting and I hope that she has found hers in your garden!

  8. Ah, she looks so pretty in that final shot!

  9. Stregatta, thanks! She's not usually so relaxed 🙂

  10. Vulpes, I liked that shot too. A slightly odd posture, but very relaxed.

  11. Zephirine, she's been using the garden since she was a cub so she's quite comfortable here.

  12. Adele, it was most unlike her, but it bodes well for the spring.

  13. Thats so sweet  If she thinks its safe for her then there will definatly (i hope) be plenty of cubs to photograph like there was a couple of years back. 😛

  14. Mark, I certainly hope so. She's been somewhat erratic this past week, but she's still around and I think she going to stay put over winter. You can never quite be sure though.
