The Bank Holiday weekend has been a bit of a washout, but I got out to Rottingdean today, between the showers.

The sea was calm (for once). A pair of cormorants were scouting for feeding grounds off-shore.

The fulmars were sleeping

A rock pipit enjoys a brief glimpse of the sun.

And a starling shows off its hunting skills :right:

This evening, in the garden, I caught a prowler 😀

Camera note: all the Rottingdean shots were taken with the Canon 40D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens. The fox cub was photographed with the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM lens.

  1. I do approve of those sort of prowlers!

  2. I love the little treat!

  3. Calm sea and fulmas sleeping!? Impossible!!! 😆

  4. The prowler is wonderful! 😀

I like the rock pipit sunning itself too. It was brighter up here but ridiculously cold for the time of year; the wind felt below zero to me.

  5. And a lovely prowler it is!

  6. Erwin, thanks!

  7. Adele, the breeze was really sharp down here as well. I would have expected more movement on the water. Odd, but nice to get out. More little prowlers soon 😉

  8. Vulpes, they're definitely my favourite sort too. 🙂

  9. Deb, thanks!

  10. Darko, I know… a quite amazing combination of inactivity!

  11. I think thats a cute name for him, Prowler hehe. It was kind of a washout, we had a few showers in a stiff northeasterly wind at Heathrow brrrr, but i was nicely wrapped up warm.

April = warm and sunny and dry.

May = wet cold and windy, how weird lol!

  12. Yes, this month has a real chill to it.Next week looks about the same. 🙁
