I just noticed that there was no sign of a fox on the front of the blog. That can't be right! So without further ado….
Among the flowers

A cooling drink

Look before you leap

Those were taken this evening. Earlier in the day I was back watching the gulls and then down at the pond. First, one for the family album (Dad was behind the camera  )

And at the pond, a magnificent crow…

And a skipper butterfly, with a strange bug sharing the flower head.

There are more birds in the June Birds album, including a very impatient chick.

Camera note: all daytime shots taken with the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS. As usual I added the Kenko Teleplus 1.4x Pro 300 DG teleconverter for the gulls. The foxes were taken with the EF70-300mm 4.5-5.6 DO IS lens.

  1. Great shots!! Love the family portrait!!

  2. Those seagull chicks make me laugh 🙂

  3. Family portrait is excellent, kids are growing so fast 😀

  4. Mark, it must get pretty hot up there for them. There's not much shade for them to get under.

  5. Cynthia, thanks. I loved the way they lined up for the photo.

  6. Darko, yes the difference in size in just a week or so is really noticeable.

  7. Andy, thanks

  8. Very nice 😀 TheSeagull one looks like they are warming up in the Sun 😛

  9. Great shots! The bug reminds me of a larger version of a scale insect – interestingly, if you look at them very close, they resemble tortoises…I obviously have too much time on my hands! 😀

  10. The foxes are looking really healthy. I really like this "Gull Family." Words!

  11. The gull family album shot is priceless! 😆

    Lovely skipper too!

  12. Vulpes, I'm fairly sure the butterfly is a 'large skipper', but I haven't been able to i.d. the bug. Maybe some sort of shield bug, but 'tortoise bug' sounds good to me. I can see the resemblance to scale insects (I took a sequence of photos of them last year on a friend's tree).

  13. Adele, the young ones have taken to walking along the roof ledge. It gives me vertigo just watching! The skipper was a bit of a bonus, but we get some interesting butterflies there as the weather warms up.

  14. Cynthia, thanks. The foxes are doing fine! I must try and properly identify 'mum and dad' gull. I have a feeling that might be dad in the picture. I really need a good shot of them together to judge size.

  15. Wow! Fantastic photos, the sea gull with his baby is amazing, also the wildflower and bugs!

  16. Thanks ZT… and I've added it to the Wild Flower group 😉

  17. What???? :yikes: :yikes: :hat::hat::hat::hat:

  18. LOL!

  19. ;)
