Just a quick post today. I decided to check out the roof where the gull chicks had been raised, and lo and behold one of them was back up there! At least I presume it's one of the original pair. I suspect it's been roof-hopping (the buildings are quite close to each other) and has decided to return to base for a while.

  9. FB, the change over such a short time is quite remarkable.

  10. Mark, he'll keep the speckled brown look for a year or so. I think they get their full adult plumage when they're about two years old so it's a slow transformation.
