Well it's been a good day for fox sightings. The first was at around quarter to ten this morning, at work. I was on my way to a meeting when I heard a small commotion and saw a flock of jackdaws take to the air. The cause of the disturbance proved to be a fox, which shot along the side of a building for about 50 yards before vanishing from view. Fantastic to see one moving so swiftly, but for once I had no camera with me. It looked very healthy, but clearly had no intention of hanging around. What it has done though is add a potential watching site to my list of places to visit early in the morning. I'm sure I will eventually photograph a fox there (somewhere), but they are elusive.

This evening, has also been quiet (if noisy). More calling in the neighbourhood, and two brief sightings but again without photos. The first one was early evening when I looked through the window to see a fox shooting along the garden and out to the front. It was too quick to identify for sure. The second sighting as longer (maybe 3 or 4 seconds) and again through the window. This time the fox was walking across the garden before disappearing to the front. I'm fairly certain it was the bold vixen. She has such a distinctive face.

As for what I did manage to photograph… the rabbits were out in the fields in the early morning light.

And the magpies were making their presence known…

A squirrel tried its best to evade the camera, but failed 😀

And as ever, the jackdaws posed happily outside my office…

  8. Thanks Mark. I bet you're itching to get on the new computer. The weather's ben fab (cold but so clear), except as you say, today when it was dark grey from dawn to dusk. Hoepfully it will clear for the moonlater this evening. The largest (ie closest) full moon for fifteen years).
