A slight change of pace tonight as I've been paying more attention to recent video clips over the past couple of days. The prompt was probably the acquisition of the FZ-45 which has excellent video capability. I tried it out last week when I was photographing cormorants at Rottingdean.
Next up is a surprise spotted on the trail cam last night. I'm so used to seeing the young foxes (and occasionally Bold) that I simply monitor their movement and very rarely bother to process the footage. Last night though, among all the usual faces, a stranger appeared: a large male fox. It will be interesting to see if he appears again, but in any event this is the clip.
Finally, another trail cam clip. Cheeky is helping herself to some chicken scraps. She's too close to the trail cam, but I was a few feet further away.
This is the resulting photograph.
Camera note: the first video was taken with the Panasonic Lumix DMCFZ-45. The trail cam footage is with a GL80 rail cam. The photo was taken with the Canon EOS 40D and EF70-300mm 4.5-5.6 DO IS lens.

18 Oct 2010Erwin, thanks. I gather far too much material that I can easily forget what I have.

20 Oct 2010I've been trailcam-photographed by accident a few times
I'm impressed by the video quality in the cormorant clip. The world seems to have moved on since my attempts with my little 2mp Fuji Finepix!

20 Oct 2010Adele, the video on the Panasonic is better than the video on my Sony Camcorder. Stills quality is not really as good as I would like, but it is very portable.
