About 10 days ago I posted about a missed opportunity when I had the wide lens on the camera as a buzzard flew overhead in perfect conditions. Well today, I came 90% to correcting that miss when I was out with the 300mm lens and another buzzard came gliding overhead. Again the light was excellent and I managed several workable shots, of which this is probably the best.

Common Buzzard

I say '90%' because of course as chance would have it I didn't take out the latest addition to my kit, a Canon 100-400mm lens. That had a good workout yesterday, and I'll be posting more from then when I've had a chance to sort out the best images (and identified everything thoroughly). For now though this shot of one of the birds I do know on sight will have to do.

Kestrel

  5. Adele, we seem to get buzzards quite regularly now. And there are rumours that vultures might venture over from Europe! Now that would be something special!!!

Mark, I've never seen more than a single buzzard. A group must have been magnificent. Looking forward to your photos and blog.
