Despite the gray and damp weather, there was plenty to photograph today. Well the first photo was taken last night (but who's counting) 😉
Young newt, still with its gills
Peacock Butterfly seen at lunchtime
The squirrels were also out and about
There are several more photos of the wood mouse from tonight in The Wood Mouse Files. The greedy little thing was being ultra co-operative tonight. All the mouse shots from today are full frame, no cropping and taken from a matter of inches away. I just hope the cat doesn't buy a camera!

2 Oct 2007Another marvellous collection, and I doubt I'm the only one who tried to count all eight of the spider's eyes after your comment on that picture! 😆

3 Oct 2007That's another brilliant spider shot. She does have 8 eyes fwiw.
I like the amber colours of this girl. It's a pleasing mix of textures and smooth surfaces.

3 Oct 2007Thanks!
I couldn't quite get a perfect angle on the spider, but one day…. all 8 eyes, eye-to-eye :eyes:
Brendan – she's a great colour isn't she. There are a couple others quite similar out in the garden, but she stands out.
As for the mouse, well it's really cute. Sometimes it runs off, but if I can get in close enough it seems ok about staying put while the flash goes off. It must be getting quite used to me by now.

13 Oct 2007Peek-a-boo 😆 I'd say he's willing to put up with quite a bit for those peanuts.

13 Oct 2007Mickeyjoe, he's fine if I can get in close enough without startling him. It's noise more than anything that sends him scurrying. If I shift my weight and step on a leaf or twig he tends to scoot.
