Another brief post tonight. I've been out in the garden for the past hour and was rewarded with a fleeting glimpse of the fox cub, but no photo. It's quite a cautious (wise) little fox, a trait passed on by the vixen who is one of the most skittish foxes I've seen. Or more to the point, haven't seen. She's studiously avoided any direct sightings, but appears jumpy and skittish on the trailcam even when the garden is deserted. So no new fox photos today.

Instead, a few shots of some of the many blue tits and great tits that are making use of the garden. They're particularly active in the late afternoon as they flit along the thick border of shrubs and trees. First a young great tit. It can only recently have fledged (so I presume there is a nest hidden somewhere in the foliage).

The grand display though are the blue tits. Again I'm sure there must be young nearby, though this is an adult.

  1. Glad that you've got young great tits (you seem to have the monopoly on young birds this year!) I must have more of a look around here.

  2. I love the blue little tits. In my garden I see them very often. 🙂

  3. Is a beautiful bird 🙂

  4. Thanks Cláudio!

  5. Adele, the pond has increased my sighting of young bird life no end this year, but nice to see them in the garden. I just wish we had a bit more sunshine so I could get some decent pictures.

  6. 7Wellis, they are such bold little birds, and so pretty to watch.

  7. 🙂
