Nicked-ear has become something of a late night visitor. Most of my recent sightings of her have been fleeting, and after midnight. The opportunities for taking photographs have therefore been more than a little constrained. This evening though, she appeared at a reasonable hour and although she didn't stay for long, she did take a couple of circuits of the garden and paused long enough for a few shots (that is, when she wasn't hiding behind the various shrubs and plants).

Camera note: all tonight's shots were taken with the Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG macro lens. I added a lighting filter in Photoshop to the first image.

  1. She really looks nice and healthy

  2. Darko, she's looking great, and her brush is fantastic. The best I've seen of all the foxes that have visited.

  3. Great to see her. It's interesting looking at her coat – she's much more ginger than, say, the Scraggly Vixen.

  4. Shes beautiful 😀 She stars in my latest post words as a pilot! 😆

I wonder if shes been mated yet? if so we can see her cubs hopefully in 3 months yay 😀

  5. Adele, her coat constantly astounds me. I'm so used to foxes showing wear and tear the whole time, but apart from her ear (and a long-standing nick on her left rear leg which appears as a white scar) she seems to have avoided all the problems of the other foxes.

  6. Mark, I just took a look. That's great 😆 Not sure whether she's through with mating yet, but I'm hopeful that if she does bear cubs we'll get to see them. I haven't quite figured out where she spends the nights, though it has to be fairly near.

  7. She certainly is a cooperative and beautiful model!

  8. Lois, when she's on form she's great.

  9. She's so pretty! :queen:

  10. Vulpes, she's certainly blossomed over the year. 🙂
