I promise I will try to find some variety on the theme of London wildlife but for the moment I'm still finding my city feet, so today is very much a continuation of last week (with a couple of new faces). But I did take a different lens. The 200mm prime has been among the more neglected parts of the kit, but it's ideal for urban photography. Unobstrusive, good reach, and a wide aperture.
Greylag geese
Black-headed gull… one of the most numerous (and noisy) park inhabitants
A coot
And a moorhen
I can hardly avoid photographing squirrels, but I make no apologies for this shot…
Squirrel
And the inevitable heron…
I am taking time to look at the setting, and among the many architectural delights. the Regent's Park Mosque is outstanding.
The forecast for tomorrow is rain, so I may be more restricted in what I get to see…
Camera note: all shots taken with the EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM.

26 Oct 2010That squirrel is doing a good impression of a hedgehog, never mind a skunk! :eyes:

31 Oct 2010Neil, I got a good sequence of the backlit heron (that was just one of the shots). It seems easier to get close to them on that side of the water 😉
