A very simple blog today, of a few shots all taken early this morning while the light was still good.

The local white ducks are all feral domestics, but seem to be thriving. They certainly put on a good show on days like today.

There are also runner ducks (tall, with a very upright gait), again released rather than wild. They too seem to enjoy the pond and these ones have been here for well over a year now (I would need to check back through photos to work out just how long).

Lastly a moorhen, taking in the morning air.

  2. dW, thanks!

  3. I wonder if anyone has done a population census of feral ducks in the UK. They seem fairly widespread in the south but I didn't see many in Norfolk.

  4. Adele, I know that some are 'rescue' ducks, but not all of them (surely?). Maybe they eat more duck in Norfolk :chef:
