Not quite summer, but we do seem to be in the middle of a spell of exceptionally warm autumn weather. Blue skies and sunshine, with temperatures up in the low 20s. This was the scene early this morning at Falmer pond.

Overhead the young cormorant was flying circuits.

He eventually came to rest among a gaggle of geese, ducks and gulls.

Lunchtime was quiet, but I did see a late season hobby overhead.

And this evening the sky was a stunning glow of red light as we approached dusk. This is a shot of Brighton Racecourse taken at around 6.35pm.
