Splashing Sparrows and a small swarm of bees…

The summer weather continues, much to the delight of these sparrows who were enjoying a muddy bath down at the pond.

They weren't the only birds enjoying the weather. The early light brought out the soft patterns of this female mallard perfectly

And the young moorhens were strolling along the bank.

That was during the day. As I was leaving work tonight a colleague pointed me in the direction of a small swarm of bees. The swarm has gathered on a recycling skip (now ribboned off to prevent disturbance). There were more there yesterday apparently. I'll be checking on them again tomorrow. Carefully!

I had a fleeting sight of a fox this evening 🙂 but they remain determined to avoid the camera 🙁

Darko, they are so cute when they are like that. Cheeky little things, and very social.

Erwin, that's a very small selection of the shots I got of the sparrows. I was watching them for about 20 minutes.

I should become a wald-life photographer so I can capture gorgeous images. I love watching little birds splash in a puddle (or pond, as it were) and some nice photos to remind me would be nice. However, knowing how difficult it is to get a decent shot of either of my two cats reminds me that a wildlife photographer has to have infinite patience.

Maybe a better idea is to visit your photos more often. 🙂

Kay, it takes practice but to be honest I don't have a lot of patience. What has changed over the years is that I can now see the shot before I take it. That helps!
