A genuinely quiet day today, and a little cooler than its been lately. We are still enjoying some sunshine, and so are the lambs that are scattered all over the local fields. These ones have a grandstand view of the local football stadium. A year ago the field was a covered in rubble from the stadium construction work, but that was part of an eco-friendly strategy. Instead of transporting the rubble by lorry to landfill, it was spread on the adjacent field where it has rapidly returned to grassland. Very effective, as you can see.

It's a time for young animals, and there are few as cute as a young rabbit. This one was boldly sitting in the vegetation at the edge of the car park at work.

I was going through the recent trail cam images earlier this evening and came across this one of the badger which featured earlier in the week. You can make out the wounds (they appear as white blotches along the lower part of the neck), but they seem less obvious than in earlier images which is a good sign.
