No photos of the foxes tonight, though I have numerous trail cam clips to work through. I'll sort some more of those out over the next few days. There are some nice playful moments that the cam caught last night.

Today was bright, but cold; which is fine. At least there was no rain. It was bright enough for this very pretty foal to be up early this morning.

At the other end of the scale (size-wise) I ran across multiple clouds of gnats. I've given up the thankless task of trying to photograph individual gnats, but if you're at a loose end you could try counting this little lot.

The one unusual capture (not that the subject is particularly rare, just one I don't see too often), is this shelduck. It was one of a pair that flew over.

Finally, with all those insects about it's little wonder that the swifts are becoming increasingly active. This is one of the better shots I managed.

  1. That's a lot of bugs!

  2. Nice shots, Words … I especially like the sheldrake, and the colt is irresistable.
The summer food supply for the swifts is doing well.

  3. There has to be some computer software which will count gnats automatically :right:

That foal!! :awww: Nice shot of the swift; a tough species to catch.

  4. Adele, computers and bugs seems to go together. Someone almost certainly has written a program that could do that after a fashion. The foal was really cute.

  5. dW, it was ione of the few decent days we've had lately and nice to see some different animals. The shelduck was unexpected.

  6. Andy, it sure was a lot. I was walking in clouds!
