It's been a while, but after a very wet and somewhat barren period for photographing foxes, Shutterbug paid a visit late this evening. He's in his full winter coat and is a fine figure of a fox.

This may well be the final post of the year, in which case I can't think of a better close to the year. 2012 has been the wettest year in England on record (which given that the first few months were a drought says a lot for the final half of the year). Here's hoping that things improve in 2013.

  1. He certainly looks well, doesn't he?
Thanks, Words … and Happy New Year.

  2. Well, I've always viewed January as the best month for fox watching (cold mornings, diurnal foxes, frosty fields) but this time…we'll see, I guess. If it doesn't rain for the next three months, I won't be sorry.

    Happy New Year! 🙂

  3. I've seen on the news you still have a flooding warning in England :left:

    Happy New Year!!!

  4. Darko, yes it's still pretty wet around much of the country, though things are improving slightly. Whether it will stay dry is another question.

Happy New Year to you and San!

  5. Adele, the forecast is slightly better for the first part of the year, but who knows? It barely rained for the first three months of 2012 and look where that got us. Some normal weather would make a change, nothing fancy just something to work with!

    Happy New Year!

  6. dW, always good to see him in such good nick. I was going through some old shots and found some from 2011 when he looks pretty ragged.

    Have a great 2013!

  7. Thanks, happy new year to you and Mrs. Words

  8. Darko, thanks!
