I would have liked a little more sunshine this morning, but it was mild enough to bring out the butterflies when I stopped by at Seven Sisters Country Park, just outside Eastbourne. There was little in the way of bird life, so I wandered along the edge of the fields where butterflies are an easy sighting. Several species were present, but the most numerous were the marbled whites, one of my favourite subjects (but flighty, and with a preference for settling in long grass).

There were small skippers as well, and among the rest these are the pick:

  1. We were in a back country last weekend and I was amazed by the number of butterflies even above 1500 meters. If there is a flower you will see a butterfly too. 😀

    1. Darko, yes, when they are ready to come out there’s no stopping them. Creatures of the conditions. Whole colonies will migrate to search for food. Quite amazing when you think how fragile they are.
