Yet more rain today, with plenty on the horizon for tomorrow evening. This January has proved to be the wettest in 100 years for some parts of the UK. We’ve escaped the very worst of it, but the ground all around is sodden, the pond is overflowing, and local roads are prone to minor flooding.

In recognition of all this water here are a few photos of water splashes. They were taken at the foot of a drainpipe which was discharging directly onto the ground at the edge of local playing fields. Usually it would just soak away. Today, however, it was making a valiant bid to become our newest water feature.
