My first badger sighting

It was brief. I glanced out of the kitchen window to where the dog fox sometimes emerges from the garden of the house opposite. There was some movement. Not a fox. Not a cat. A badger! 😀 It scuttled off quickly down the street, so I only saw it for a few seconds. But it was unmistakeable. A living, breathing wedge of a beast. And that was it: the first time I've ever seen a live badger.

No foxes though tonight. Lunchtime was good though 🙂

Thats so exciting! I've seen a badger only once in my life. It hissed at me and the waddled away. Then I ran home and called the badger hotline…they are becoming endangered here, so if you spot one, you're supposed to call this 1-800 number, so they can keep track of sightings. 😀

Wow, that really sounds exiting. I know, we have some badgers in our region too, but I've never seen one.

    Congratulations 😀

    That's fantastic. A garden badger!

Sanshan, I've never seen a North American badger but I'm going to try hard when I go to the prairies in June. 🙂
